It's great to see more people from all walks of life looking for ways to enhance their workouts while keeping them convenient and affordable. At Anointed Hands, we want our classes to be accessible so we offer memberships and packages in addition to our class drop-in rate. With options like ClassPass available, deciding on the best fitness strategy can feel overwhelming. This post compares our studio memberships to ClassPass, giving you the knowledge to make choices that align with your lifestyle.

Understanding Anointed Hands' Pilates Memberships
Being a member of your local Pilates studio cultivates a strong sense of community and accountability. For example, members build friendships with instructors and fellow participants, which can boost motivation to attend classes regularly. A study found that members of fitness communities are 42% more likely to stick with their routines compared to those who work out solo.
At Anointed Hands we provide tiered pricing options, allowing our members to choose the plan that fits their budgets. This flexibility ensures that you can enjoy a consistent fitness schedule without financial strain.
The Appeal of ClassPass
ClassPass is a flexible fitness subscription that allows users to attend various classes at numerous partnered studios and gyms. Unlike a standard membership, ClassPass focuses on variety, catering to individuals interested in exploring different workout formats, from Pilates to high-intensity interval training.
Anointed Hands is a newly established Pilates studio in Brown Deer. We opted to temporarily partner with ClassPass to enhance brand awareness. However, this collaboration is not intended to be long-term, as the compensation local studios receive from ClassPass per user reservation is minimal. It also does not support our efforts in building community unless ClassPass users decide to become members.
One of ClassPass’s standout advantages is accessibility. With just one subscription, users can gain entry to multiple studios and classes. This is particularly appealing for those who travel often or want to test out new workouts without a long-term commitment. For instance, users have access to over 30,000 classes across more than 2,500 cities, ensuring no shortage of options.
Comparing Costs and Value
When evaluating costs, it’s vital to see how each option matches your fitness goals and budget. The memberships at Anointed Hands renew monthly. The Basic membership gives you access to 4 classes per month, the Elite membership gives you 8 classes per month and we also offer an Unlimited membership. If you're committed to attending Pilates classes frequently—let’s say three to four times a week—this can be a more economical solution over time, potentially saving hundreds of dollars.
On the flip side, ClassPass uses a credits system, with different classes requiring a varying number of credits to attend. Although this provides greater flexibility, costs can accumulate quickly, especially at higher-end studios. For instance, a popular Pilates class might require eight credits, which could cost around $32 if you pay $4 per credit. For those just dipping their toes into fitness, ClassPass can seem appealing, but more dedicated users may find supporting their local Pilates studio to have a better overall value.
Class Variety vs. Consistency
ClassPass excels in its wide range of exercise options. Users can mix their workouts, preventing them from becoming boring. This variety helps keep motivation levels high, particularly for those who might find traditional routines dull.
In contrast, at Anointed Hands our classical Pilates classes focus on teaching the exercises designed by Joseph Pilates, building a strong core foundation, and layering in more complex exercises that will lead to greater improvement over time. Regular practitioners find that consistent class attendance helps them develop better strength, flexibility, and technique. For example, studies show that participants in a consistent Pilates program demonstrated improvement in core strength after just eight weeks of regular attendance.
Community and Support
Being part of a supportive community like Anointed Hands can significantly boost motivation. We plan to be a part of the Brown Deer community for many years to come and would love to have you join us in class. Showing up regularly and getting to know other class participants develops bonds and increases accountability to personal fitness goals.
On the other hand, ClassPass sometimes lacks this personal touch due to its expansive network. While users can meet new people, the transient nature of ClassPass members may hinder the formation of strong relationships. For many, the supportive environment of joining your local Pilates studio community could be the key to staying committed.
Quality of Instruction
The quality of Pilates instruction can vary widely. As the lead teacher at Anointed Hands, I bring 18 years of bodywork experience in addition to six years of classical Pilates instruction. I can guarantee you that any future Pilates instructors at Anointed Hands will also be comprehensively trained in the Pilates method. Our experience and hands-on approach ensure that every attendee receives focused guidance that aligns with their fitness levels. Over time, consistent instruction can lead to significant progress. Joseph Pilates famously said, “In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference, and in 30 you'll have a whole new body”.
In the ClassPass framework, the quality of instruction can be inconsistent due to the shift in instructors, class sizes and studio policies. While some studios feature top-notch trainers, others may not meet the same standard. For individuals aiming for advancement in Pilates, sticking with a dedicated studio will provide the stability needed for growth.
Flexibility and Convenience
Flexibility is crucial when comparing these fitness options. ClassPass excels by allowing users to schedule classes based on personal convenience. Whether you're an early bird or a night owl, ClassPass offers options that can fit any lifestyle.
At Anointed Hands we value our members' opinions and are willing to adjust the class schedule based on demand. We offer convenience through routine, especially for committed practitioners. We work with clients to establish a workout schedule that integrates seamlessly into their daily lives.
When considering whether to join your local Pilates studio or ClassPass, reflect on your personal fitness goals, your desire for community support, and how often you plan to attend classes. For those who are seriously invested in Pilates, a membership at Anointed Hands will offer you a superior value. Members benefit from specialized instruction, continuous practice, and a supportive community.
Alternatively, if you crave variety in your workouts and enjoy sampling different fitness trends, ClassPass might be more suitable. Ultimately, the right choice will align with your preferences and fitness objectives, enabling you to embark on a fulfilling fitness journey uniquely tailored to your lifestyle.
