Can I speak to someone regarding Pilates and what is best for me?
Yes, we would be happy to give you a phone call or have you come into the studio to talk through you taking Pilates with us. Simply schedule a Pilates Discovery Session to arrange this.
I want to take Pilates classes but I am new to Pilates, where do I start?
We highly recommend that anyone new to Pilates begin with a Private Lesson. This personal 1:1 session is tailored specifically to your individual goals and physical condition. You will learn the foundational principles of Pilates and utilize various Pilates apparatus but primarily the mat and Reformer. Most people choose to take 3-5 Private Lessons before joining a small group class.
My healthcare provider/specialist recommended that I do Pilates, where do I start?
During your Pilates Discovery Session we will review your health history and reasons for wanting to take Pilates to ensure we provide the appropriate modifications to support you. If you are rehabilitating, we are happy to work alongside your healthcare professionals.
How many times a week should I practice Pilates?
We recommend you practice Pilates at least 3 times a week, ideally the same days and times each week. Having a set routine help you remain consistent in your practice. Consistency will lead to quicker progress and improvement in your overall health.
What should I wear for Pilates?
You should wear comfortable clothing to allow you to move freely. Shoes are not required as Pilates is usually done barefoot or in socks. We suggest grip socks, especially on the equipment.
